install cleanly and remove only what you choose

Launch Cotabby from Applications after installation and complete the permission walkthrough.

1. 1. Download the latest Cotabby DMG from the website or GitHub Releases.
2. 2. Open the disk image.
3. 3. Drag Cotabby into Applications.
4. 4. Eject the disk image and launch the Applications copy.

Released builds use Sparkle for signed update checks. Open Settings → About → Check for Updates for a manual check.

For a Homebrew-managed installation, you can also run:

brew upgrade --cask cotabby

Read the release notes before relying on a newly documented feature.

• Quit Cotabby from the menu bar.
• Move Cotabby from Applications to Trash, or run brew uninstall --cask cotabby.
• Remove Cotabby from Accessibility, Input Monitoring, and Screen Recording in System Settings if you no longer want the grants listed.

Removing the app does not automatically delete downloaded model files and local preferences.

To fully remove Cotabby's application data, delete:

~/Library/Application Support/Cotabby

Reinstalling later creates fresh local state. Follow Getting Started to grant permissions and select an engine again.
